The draft Oxfordshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) is now open for public consultation.

The Oxfordshire Local Nature Partnership (OLNP) hosted a visit from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) Green Finance team as part of a fact-finding mission to explore how their programme could better support local efforts in nature finance.

A report, released today by the researchers in the Leverhulme Centre for Nature Recovery, identifies neighbourhoods in Oxfordshire experiencing both socio-economic deprivation and poor provision of accessible green spaces, with a view to these neighbourhoods being prioritised in terms of planning, allocation of funding, and effort for improving quality and quantity of accessible green spaces.

Oxfordshire County Council has been named by the government as a ‘responsible authority’ for driving nature recovery. It is one of 48 councils set to benefit from a £14 million government funding pot, enabling it to work with local communities to develop a tailored nature recovery strategy for Oxfordshire.
